Our world will never be the same

These unprecedented times are uncertain for everyone. Families have faced many unforeseen situations and crises.
Job security is at risk. If u have money to pay your bills or buy essentials this month there is no guarantee you will have it next month too. With these uncertain times, one should be smart enough to keep everything under control.

I mean who would have thought, "stay home" for months will be the new norm? These last few months have been such a tragedy, mankind has never seen anything like that before.

COVID 19 has put most of the world under lockdown. People who have been living hand to mouth are in the worst financial crisis. This is the time to be helpful, kind, and everyone should stay positive.

Many changes have taken place in these last few months. Staying positive is the only thing that is keeping us sane in these difficult times. Our life took a whole 360 turn.
With no job stability, we had to choose and decide between needs and wants.
Usually, the American culture is, you earn for the whole week and spend on the weekends. Just a few people save money for the rainy days. I think those are the smart ones. Luckily, I am one of them.

I have always been frugal and my husband was the total opposite. When we got married I noticed at the end of the month he would hardly have any money left, he was always late on his payments.
Even though he was earning a good amount of money he was behind his payments. It seemed like saving or budgeting was never his skill. I introduced him to saving cash before spending on anything, that very amount you simply forget you ever had, and before you know you have a big chunk of money left every month. That year we took a long vacation and he was shocked because he already had money to pay off all the expenses. From there onwards, there was no looking back. He got the taste of saving but still had some difficulty managing it.

For a guy like him, this pandemic changed a lot of things he used to do. For a starter, Coffee...

He couldn't survive without having his coffee from BiggBy (only available in our state).
Since all the coffee shops were closed he was having a hard time adjusting to that.
Luckily, I had BigB coffee beans and their famous syrup, I got a coffee pot from Amazon . and started making at home. He got what he was looking for,
the same cup of coffee at a fraction of a price.

But he still needed help to manage and calculate his income and how to smartly spend it every month. To keep everything smooth He started using this site  https://calculator.me
I noticed ever since he started using this site, he is more aware of where he spends the money and how much.  Especially in these crucial times, he needs it more than ever.

Budgeting is overwhelming for many people. Calculate.me does all the hard work for you. It is totally free and customizable and can be set according to one's needs, it calculates based on monthly or net income and distributes expenditures accordingly. A totally free to use personal finance manager at your fingertips. Enter the amount and it does the rest.
This site has a lot of potential, not only does it calculate your net income and its distribution, but it also calculates your savings, mortgage, utility bills and so much more. The more I spend time on this site
the more I find ways to calculate, like how much should I pay for my gas and electricity bill, etc.

Apart from financial stress on everyone, a lot has changed and a lot will change.
It seems like our world is not going to be the same, Maybe I am being too dramatic, or it will stay like this till we get an effective vaccine, do not know what the future holds for us. But I am hoping for the best and trying to stay strong and positive. And remember you are not stuck in the house, you are safe in the house.

How are you all coping with this change?

  4. Not much has changed here. We didn't go through much of a lock down and everything is pretty much open again. Mostly everyone wearing masks or taking temperatures

  5. I have been frugal even before the pandemic. My mindset on my finances would always be save some for the rainy days. A lot has change on my perspective. I guess I have been budgeting more effectively and looking out for bang on the buck bargains for goods.

  6. Great read and I totally agree. Things will be different going forward and businesses, venues and society in general are going to have to take precautionary measures with many things. We just have to make the best of the situation and keep on going :)

  8. Thanks so much for sharing this. It really does fell like life will never be the same. I’m from NY where everywhere you go businesses have barriers between them and customers. I was so happy when I moved out of state and the barriers were gone. Sadly, even in my small town, they’re back. We definitely living in a different time.
