Azara Organics Seaweed Powder Review #seaweed

It is not everyday you find a skincare product that you can immediately say will be a staple in your beauty routine.

This is the first time I have ever used a seaweed powder. I researched a little to know more about the product.
Sea kelp is a  seaweed or marine algae that is available in powder form. It may be brown, green or red, and is rich in various nutrients such as minerals and proteins.
Azara Organics sent me the product for my honest review. The jar consists of 8 ounce of fine kelp powder. There was a customer protection seal for freshness. Azara Organics Seaweed Powder(Ascophyllum Nodosum) is wild harvested from the clean cold ocean water of the North Atlantic. It is constantly tested to insure its quality and consistency.

There are many uses of Seaweed Powder.

Health Benefits

It is one of those ingredients that you should consider adding to your diet. It is full of iodine, which American diets can be lacking in, as well as B vitamins.

Seaweed Powder for Weight Loss

Seaweed powder may also be a valuable food for those on a weight-loss diet since improved metabolism can help remove excessive fat in the body.

Hair Problem?
If your problem is that you simply don't have as much hair as you'd like, seaweed can help! Because it contains so much iodine, it can stimulate hair growth. There can be plenty of reasons why people start to lose their hair, one of the most common and one of the most overlooked is an iodine deficiency. A simple diet change is all it takes to grow more hair!
As an added benefit, when you apply Seaweed mask direct to your hair, the iodine can  fight off bacteria and microscopic fungus. That is what's eating away  your hair follicles and making you look a little thin on top.

Skin Benefits:
Seaweed  has  skin care benefits that can not be ignored, if you don't mind the sea smell. A seaweed body wrap or detoxification methods such as sea kelp powder baths, is a popular treatment in many spas. It helps to remove toxins from your body and may improve overall health.  Seaweed powder is mixed with oils and essential oils to create a mud-like consistency that is applied to exfoliated skin. You are  wrapped up tight and left to relax for about 30 minutes. It is thought that the seaweed pulls out the toxins in your body and can aid in general well-being, relieving aches and pains temporarily.

Seaweed Body Wrap

You can easily make a seaweed body wrap at home. It is a good idea to exfoliate before you wrap your skin. I used it in my husband's absence. A girl needs a "Me" time too.

What You Will Need:
1/2 Cup Azara Organics Seaweed Powder ( You can buy it here.)
3-4 Tablespoons of Your Favorite Oil (Olive, Argan, Jojoba...)
2-4 Drops Essential Oils (Optional)
Warm Water
Plastic Wrap
Towels

Mix the seaweed powder, oil and water until your desired consistency. It should be thick paste, not watery.
After mixing, you can add the essential oil if you like.
Line your bed with plastic, perhaps a cheap shower curtain,. This will protect your bed or your floor. Lie down wherever you are most comfortable for 30 minutes.

Applying to Skin:

Standing over a towel or in the shower. Apply mixture to your entire body. (It is going to be messy.) Once applied, you can wrap areas of your skin with plastic wrap. Having someone help with this will make it easier, especially for the torso. Just do your best - the plastic will stick to the "mud", so it doesn't have to be perfect.

Once wrapped, lie down on a towel and apply another towel over the top of you to keep yourself warm. If you have a blanket you don't care much about, feel free to get under the covers to encourage sweating. Sweating can help further detoxify your skin. Seaweed contains acids that can bind to toxins in your body. Kelp or seaweed combined with heat, penetrates your skin and draws out impurities

Tip: While you rest, consider placing sliced cucumbers over your eyes to reduce puffiness.

After 20 to 30 Minutes:

Remove wrap and take a warm shower to rinse off all the seaweed "mud".

Seaweed Face Mask

If a messy body wrap isn't your thing, reduce the recipe and make a face mask instead. Leave on for 15 minutes and rinse off.

"Cellulite" No Please.....
For most of us, "cellulite" is so unsightly and so hard to get rid of! However, seaweed can make your skin more supple and more elastic .... These are the two things that can help stop cellulite in its tracks.

My thoughts

I had no idea about the smell but Azara Organics already mentioned that they have not used any chemicals to hide the natural seaweed smell. I did not know what to expect. Well I have to admit, I am not a big fan of the odor.

. I followed the directions, using a tsp of powder and 2 tsp water but had to add more water as it was too thick. I added couple of drops of argan oil, and left it for a while. I noticed the strong odor subsided a little. I applied the mask like any company made mask and left it on for 15 minutes. I am glad that though the odor is too strong but there are no chemicals added to hide it, as I am trying to go all natural. I am happy that at least Azara Organics is trying to make an effort and providing us with all natural 100% seaweed powder. I also tried it as a body wrap and noticed remarkable difference. The smell is overpowering, for that you can add essential oils, like lavender, jasmine or any other of your liking. Azara Organic is trying to bring no chemical,100% and all natural product. Their motto is If we don't feel safe and comfortable ingesting it into our body then it does not belong on our skin. I recommend this product.
